Nonprofit Projects: Susan Nabukenya

Susan Nabukenya, a 14 year old Ugandan girl, arrived in Boston on May 12, 2008 from her village in Southern Uganda. Susan was 11 years old when she was severely burned from the chest down. She has lived with burn contractures and open wounds for four years and had to quit school because her ability to walk was so severely impaired. Engeye Health Clinic along with Just Cause and Choose a Need. were able to bring Susan and John Kalule, the co-founder and manager of the Engeye to Boston, Massachusetts where Susan will receive two skin grafts this summer.

  
  
     
  
  
  
     
  
Susan Nabukenya, a 14 year old Ugandan girl, arrived in Boston on May 12, 2008  along with John Kalule, co-founder and director of Engeye Health Clinic , based in Uganda's Ddegeya Village.  Susan  was 11 years old when she was severely burned from the chest down after stepping too close to a cooking fire and her kerosene-stained dress ignited.  She has lived with burn contractures and open wounds for four years and had to quit school because her ability to walk was so severely impaired.  Engeye Health Clinic,  along with Just Cause and Choose a Need. were able to bring Susan and John Kalule, the co-founder and manager of the Engeye Health Clinic in Uganda, to Boston, Massachusetts where Susan will receive two skin grafts this summer.
